The recipe for your career at sea: passion for your job, a large portion of commitment and a sense of culinary arts

  • Responsibility for the proper workflow in the assigned work area and the related administrative tasks in close cooperation with the kitchen manager
  • Co-responsibility for the implementation of quality standards, especially with regard to menus, buffets and theme nights, including food costing and ordering
  • Ensure that all work is carried out with great economy and meets agreed quality and hygiene standards
  • Regular inspections of the kitchens and workplaces with regard to cleanliness, hygiene, maintenance, safety and, in particular, compliance with all agreed standards
  • Contact person for guests in case of problems and complaints in the dining area
  • Instruction, education and training of crew members
  • Contract duration of your first assignment: 4 months, subsequent follow-up contracts possible
  • Your advancement will be based on your availability in connection with the assignment planning on board and is generally possible all year round on every day of the month

This is what you bring on board:

  • Completed, passed vocational training as a cook (f/m/d) with internationally recognized certificate
  • Professional experience in a management position either in a large hotel, banquet or restaurant, if possible on board a cruise ship
  • Knowledge of German (Berlitz Level 5 or höher) & English (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of MS Office, CrunchTime or Fidelio
  • Good international people skills and leadership skills
